Marisa has had a life long love of fitness that started when she was 6 years old. While growing up in Seattle, trying to keep up with her older brothers, she began running competitively in cross-country & track. From there, she blossomed into any team sport she was able to compete in- but her first love was basketball. While in high school, her basketball career was halted due to a knee injury where she never fully recovered. As an adult, Marisa has always enjoyed exercising whether it was in a gym or outside. After the birth of her second child, she took a Pilates class at a local gym. She found this mind-body exercise was not only something that challenged her body, but was improving various muscle imbalances she had suffered from since she was a teenager. From there, she was hooked.

Over the last seven plus years, she has practiced Pilates at various studios throughout the county, exposing her to different techniques and methods. What started out, as a change to her workout routine became something much more.

"My passion is to share Pilates with other! I love teaching people both how their body functions, and the movements that will help it function well."

Marisa is certified in STOTT PILATES Mat work & Reformer. She is also trained in Stability Chair & Cadillac. She received her training at Marshall Eklund Fitness & Pilates in San Diego.
